Consortium Grades [Jan. 5th, 2011|03:59 pm]
College Park

Did anyone here take a course through the consortium this past semester, and if so has your grade been posted on Testudo yet? Mine hasn't, and I kinda need those credits. My unofficial transcript shows the class for three credits, yet for some reason says I only attempted six this semester (with the consortium class it should be nine).

Free Amazon Prime for students [Sep. 22nd, 2010|11:38 pm]

Amazon is currently giving free 1 year memberships to Amazon Prime (free 2 day shipping, $3.99 overnight shipping) to current students with a .edu email address: http://www.amazon.com/gp/student/signup/info

I'm not sure how long they're offering this (it doesn't say on the site). Just thought i'd give fellow students the heads up on this in case you haven't heard about it yet. This is going to save me a ton on shipping textbooks this year!

Hi. I'm Toni and I'm a student journalist at UMD looking to get clips published for my JOUR320 requirement. I'm currently working on an article for Unwind, a student run campus publication, about students who go to UMD and have an interest in pursuing culinary after they graduate.

This can be in a lot of forms, from working with a co-op, working in fine dining, going to school to be a chef, pursuit of hospitality management or restaurant ownership.

If you don't mind having your picture and your words in a campus publication and you fit the description please send me an email and I will interview you. I promise not to take up too much of your time. Hey! We all need our little five minutes of fame.

Anyone have experience with the rush hour commute from campus to Gaithersburg in the morning, and back in the evening? Trying to plan the time necessary to get to NIST for 7:30am and back to campus by 7:00pm.

Thanks!

Criminology [Oct. 6th, 2009|03:45 pm]

Hi guys!

I've heard that UMCP's Criminology grad program is really cut-throat and the students are more rivals and competitors than friends.

I really hope this isn't true b/c I'm applying there. Is the program really that vicious?

Thanks!

my friend is applying to an in-state maryland college. he did really well in high school, but poorly at the community college. he is going to apply to towson and send in only his high school transcript. will they have any way of finding out his community college grades if he doesn't turn them in?

If anyone is looking for a course to take this summer, the Art History department is offering ARTH200 in both the Summer I and Summer II sessions.  ARTH200 is the first half of the department's survey of Western Art, covering prehistory through the 13th century, and fulfills the HA distribution requirement for CORE.  Plus it's a pretty fun course, if I so say myself...and I do, because I'm teaching the Summer I session.  My class will be going to the Freer Gallery of Art in DC and possibly the Walters Art Gallery in Baltimore, and the Summer II session will have a particular focus on architecture and the environment and will be spending some time at the National Building Museum among other places.  Please feel free to contact me at abramfox@gmail.com if you have any questions.
